CANDLE 101
Here are some essential tips to ensure your safety and maximize your candle experience:
First Burn: When lighting your candle for the first time, allow it to burn for 3-4 hours or until the wax melts close to the edges of the vessel. This establishes a “memory” for future burns and helps prevent “tunneling”. Avoid exceeding 4 hours of burn time without trimming the wick!
Wick Maintenance: Always trim your wicks before each use. A long wick can’t draw wax up effectively, causing it to burn itself instead. Regular trimming ensures a longer, cleaner burn.
Draft-Free Zone: When lighting your candle, place it away from direct airflow (such as fans, windows, or drafts). Excessive movement of the flame can prevent even heating, leading to an uneven burn.
Never Leave Unattended: Always keep an eye on your candle and never leave it unattended. Ensure it’s out of reach of children, pets, and anything flammable.
Know When to Stop: Avoid burning your candle down to the last drop of wax. When there’s about a quarter inch of wax left, it’s time to extinguish it. Burning too low can cause the jar to overheat and crack, so scoop out any remaining wax and prepare to repurpose!
Stable Surface: Always light your candle on a steady, stable surface to prevent accidents.
Savor the Moment: Take a moment to pause and enjoy the aromatic experience!
